January 24, 2014 - Debeka Village, Ethiopia - After preparing a supplemental feed for his ox, beneficiary Ayele Dergaso, 65, right, sits outside his home as his children play. The supplemental feed is made from chopped banana stalk, salt ('Bole Salt') and banana leaves. Mr. Dergaso is a member of the Kelaltu Hasse Gola Multipurpose Cooperative. After the introduction of the Livelihood Diversification for Small Holder Coffee Farmers in Ethiopia program, by the Ethio-Wetlands and Natural Resources Association (EWNRA), the cooperative selected him as a beneficiary in 2012. They choose him to be trained in ox fattening and he has thrived under the program. (Photo by Ric Francis)
