South Sudanese Refugees
Adjumani District, Uganda
Agok Achiek, 6, stands against a tree as his brothers play soccer. They are a refugee family of 12 from Jonglei state (Bor town) in South Sudan. After being forced to flee South Sudan because of the war the family arrived at this refugee camp in January 2014; their home was looted and all their cattle was stolen. The fighting was between forces loyal to South Sudan president Salvar Kiir and his ex-vice president Rick Machar. The family has refused to return to South Sudan because of fear the fighting will resume.
